ISSUE Car doesn't load ingame

    Hi everyone

    Decided to try myself in modding, in car conversions to be exact.
    Started off easy: ripped an Audi S4 model from NFS Shift ( because i already had the game on my HDD) via QuickBMS script. Then did some tweaking in 3dsmax as in video tutorials on Youtube ( "dummies" and all that stuff). Then kseditor, assigned textures and shaders ( mapped random textures to some parts, target №1 is to make the car appear ingame for now :lol:). Tested in 3DsimEd, opened just fine. Then swapped other mod's .kn5 model with my model, did some tweaking in data files, renamed the folder. Launched the game, tried to start a practice session in my car and... It just doesn't load. And strangely, no crash logs, no error messages, nothing: i press Start, it kicks into Loading screen for a few seconds, and then kicks back into Launcher menu. I'm kinda confused right now. Any help please? :whistle:

    Hi @Omar6627 ,

    Welcome to the forums, BUT please note that ripping models from 3rd party without permission is not encouraged on the forums. What you do on your own PC regards only you of course, but please don't post about it.

    If you'd like to learn about car modding, I suggest you start with something very simple (it can be even a cube with 4 cylinders) and work your way up once you are familiar with the workflow. Replacing the graphical model it's very easy once the rest is done. Should you require guidance, you can open a thread about it.

    @luchian Ok, no problem. This one is for personal use only though, but i still would like to get some help on that. Could it be wrong settings in data file? Or it has something to do with model itself?

    This block doesn't help. You need to look for the error hint above the crash error.

    In any case, if it's an old car, it can be because of sound or maybe some newly introduced values in the physics.

    Maybe it's track related ?
    Try an official track ? (do other cars work on this one ?)

    The track is OK. Managed to fix the issue with the Content Manager tool using the Migration helper options 8)

    Hi, I have prepared a car model to AssettoCorsa, but when I try to load a race with this car, the game crash and return to the menù, any helps? Thanks.

    You seem to have a lot of errors linked to missing data (like some .lut files, for example).
    Maybe try starting with a copy of physics from a working modded car (or sample project), and build on that ?

    In any case, this is merely a suggestion as I wouldn't know to pin-point and solve all the errors at this moment.

    Hi! I think we have the exact same problem, and apparently the only ones on this earth. But the only thing I wanted to do was to change rims and color of an existing mod. I did the exact same method, but just went in to 3dsmax, changed rims there and went in to 3dsimed to export it in to the existing kn5 file. (So i just changed the kn5 file). I started it, and as you explained it "strangely, no crash logs, no error messages, nothing: i press Start, it kicks into Loading screen for a few seconds, and then kicks back into Launcher menu". So I checked Documents\Assetto Corsa\logs, and found: INIReader: content/cars/(car)/data/(some files)> KEY_NOT_FOUND. So i think there is some information missing in the data folder i guess. I tried to replace it with another mod but it didn't work. What did you do and have you came up with something?

    If you change something like rims, make sure that the new rims are attached to the correct dummy.
    Remember that all you see, is just visual, but AC needs to understand what that is (and you do this by attaching it to the dummy).

    I am having a problem as we speak. Right now my car crashes at loading and I don't know why. Some pop-ups appear after launch (related to the textures) but then it just returns to menu. Can't even see the car in the showroom! Don't know why and I don't know what to do.

    Also KSEditor is on default grayscale for me. Anyone else experiencing this?

    Well.. there lies the problem though :). Have a look at the logs. But generally speaking, all objects need to have some texture assigned.

    Yep fixed it a few days ago as I didnt assign things correctly. Now Im having a problem to do the physics. Im so noobish is car modding atm and just found out I need to make car physics from scratch. Dont know anyone who can help me or whos willing to help.

    For the physics, there are some tools (see e.g. THIS) but in any case there is no magic button. You would need to study and calculate values to feed into the ini files. The basics are explained in the tutorial. For the actual values, every ini has some explanation next to the value so you know what's required. For the rest.. ask.

    Ok sweet! Yeah we made this car from scratch with UVs and all. We just need to implement it correctly! Ive tried asking around with no avail.
