I doubt this will help. Must be something else. John, do you hear your spectators when you park in front of one of your grand stands at RA? Switching to F7 camera view I can hear them but not in cockpit or bumper view.
Hi John, Thanks for your advice. Changing those numbers didn't help the situation unfortunately. The Code: CAMERA_TRACK_MULT = 1 Setting is working, and makes the sound louder or quieter when in F7 cam. But the Code: CAMERA_INTERIOR_MULT = 1 CAMERA_EXTERIOR_MULT = 1 options didn't have an effect even when set to 99. Did you notice in the video, that when I switched to the F7 cam, the sound effect always restarted, maybe it's just not playing at all in the other camera modes? I appreciate your help, I'm absolutely out of my depth here, but it would be nice if I could figure this out.
Yeah, I parked a quieter bimmer by the main straight grandstand and heard them. Definitely lower, but there was crowd noise. I'll ask Ilja to review sounds again, maybe the settings arent working, which has happened on a previous version of the patch.
Somehow I managed to get track sound in car. Also CAMERA_INTERIOR_MULT and CAMERA_EXTERIOR_MULT adjustments work. It is much more "local spotted" in comparison to CAMERA_TRACK_MULT Maybe that's because of some missing/wrong "surround" settings in fmod? Also I could not see/hear any difference when changing DIRECTION values. What I found out is that at least one of the three numbers should be "1" to hear anything. But I don't hear any differences with "0,0,1" or "1,1,1" or "1,0,0" etc...
Could you please post the values you used for CAMERA_INTERIOR_MULT and CAMERA_EXTERIOR_MULT ? or even the whole new config file would be a big help Thanks!
I've just updated my Goodwood FOS track to v1.10 wher you should be able to hear the track announcers voice when you stand at the start line. You can have a look in the ext_config.ini of this track: Code: [EVENT_3] ID = racetrack/new_announcer REVERB_RESPONSE = 0 POSITION = -8.7,2,-7.2 DIRECTION = 0, 0, 1 VOLUME = 0.6 CAMERA_INTERIOR_MULT = 2 CAMERA_EXTERIOR_MULT = 2 CAMERA_TRACK_MULT = 1 https://www.racedepartment.com/downloads/goodwood-festival-of-speed-2017.26839/
Hi again, just tried with the new settings, and still no sound in car only outside cameras. I went to your Goodwood track and even with my speakers turned right up in a open roof car cannot hear the announcers at the start line, but as soon as I enter f7 cameras I can clearly hear it - so maybe this is actually a CSP / CM setting you may have changed? I have included a video showing the camera views and sounds - does it work differently for you? Good work on Goodwood - it's a brilliant recreation, and is a blast to drive in an open wheeler, the walls feel so close! The animated marshals and Ferris wheel etc really bring the track alive. Thanks again for your help
It is a strange issue. On one of my two PCs it works and on the other it behaves like in your YT video. Checked every settings but still don't know why.
That's even more intriguing then! I have no idea how to troubleshoot this. Both of your PC's are using the same GPU Driver versions, CSP, CM versions? Thanks for your time trying to help with this. Like I said i'll give it another go tonight see if I can figure anything out.
I already tried different CSP versions which doesn't make a difference. But I didn't checked the CM versions. on both PCs I run nVidea GPUs. 1050 and 2070 haven't checked driver versions but I do update very often, So I think they are both on latest.
Okay just checked: I do have the same Geforce driver on both machines: version 445.87 But I do have different CM: with 0.8.2068.36126 it runs fine with 0.8.2123.36398 which is a "non tested - Testing access" version - it doesn't. Now I have two questions: 1. Is it really the cause? Which version do you have? 2. How to downgrade CM?
I was using CM version 0.8.2123.36398 but downloaded an older version from the releases section in github. https://github.com/gro-ove/actools/releases I switched to 0.8.2068.36126 and for the first time could hear the announcer at goodwood! but it was, like you said only audible in a much smaller radius than in the other cameras, maybe it's more 'directional' hard to tell. Anyway, I loaded up my track that had used the tutorial you had made and my game crashed - might be something to do with the replay cameras not being set up by the looks of things, that newer versions of CM might be able to catch the error instead of crashing. interesting development!
Totally weird! I also have downgraded CM to 36126 (thanks leBluem) but no effect. And your crashing issue is even weirder!
