This workaround allows RTB to obtain the terrain texture and elevation data from another source, which ideally provides more detail than Google. This source can be anything in theory. A GeoTiff, a database or file containing data in XYZ format, another mapping service, such as the many regional WMS servers. It can be used for both public and local services. And yes, it can also be a LIDAR based source. An example is provided which retrieves data from a regional public WMS server. Programming skills may be required to access other sources.

Coming out of the silent period, Stefano plans for a livestream, announced as a "talk and drive" session. What's the ocassion ? Well, the introduction of the Ferrari 250 GTO in Assetto Corsa, one of Stefano's "coup de coeur" .
Yes, it's happening. A little out of the blue, the latest DLC for Assetto Corsa will be released on September 19th. Again, we'll be seeing a mixed pack of cars, one of which we all voted for. Ahm.. well, sort of saying. I didn't . That's the current F1 car, the Ferrari SF70H. (if you wish to have a look back at the poll results, you can; here).

There are already tutorials on car modding for Assetto Corsa out there. However, I feel they don't treat the subject as a whole. Example - the car_pipeline directly coming with Assetto Corsa. It's long and complex, and has a lot of useful information. But it concentrates too much on the graphical side and not enough on the rest. And that makes it not so straight forward to succeed with your first car. I personally like to start simple and once that is clear, continue to build on it....
