QUESTION Race Track Builder FBX won't open in ksEditor

Hi all,

I've been building my own race tracks in RTB for a solid 6 months or so, and have had to deal with multiple issues regarding ksEditor for the export into Assetto Corsa - but this one has stumped me.

I've tried the 4GB patch, exporting each component separately (terrain, track, objects, etc.), limiting the use of high vertices objects, and looked through multiple fourm posts and YouTube videos on this subject, but I haven't found a solution.

This track is no different in the creation process to any of my others, apart from a few texture changes that I have made to some XPack DDS files (signage and kerb colour), and neither the first version (no track, no objects, literally nothing on it other than the terrain) nor the latest version (track(s), objects, string objects, walls, minus trees & other nice additions) will load into ksEditor or ksEditorAt V6.. which confuses me the most.

Below is what ksEditor spits out when attempting to open the first FBX file with nothing on it other than terrain:

************** Exception Text **************
System.Runtime.InteropServices.SEHException (0x80004005): External component has thrown an exception.
at Model.load(Model* , basic_string<wchar_t\,std::char_traits<wchar_t>\,std::allocator<wchar_t> >* , GraphicsManager* , IModelImporter* )
at ksNet.ksGraphics.loadFBX(String filename, UInt32& key) in i:\manu\documents\ac-source-pc\ksnet\ksnet.cpp:line 743
at ksEditor.Form1.loadFBXFile(String file, Boolean saveRecent) in i:\Manu\Documents\ac-source-pc\ksEditor\Form1.cs:line 840
at ksEditor.Form1.openFBXToolStripMenuItem_Click(Object sender, EventArgs e) in i:\Manu\Documents\ac-source-pc\ksEditor\Form1.cs:line 826

************** JIT Debugging **************
To enable just-in-time (JIT) debugging, the .config file for this
application or computer (machine.config) must have the
jitDebugging value set in the system.windows.forms section.
The application must also be compiled with debugging
enabled.

For example:

<configuration>
<system.windows.forms jitDebugging="true" />
</configuration>

I was wondering if anyone has a solution to this problem, as I have no other way of continuing this track from here.

Thanks

fbx file in a path with non latin chars
Thanks mate, I don't understand the problem here though as the file path is actually "G:\Assetto Corsa Mods\Race Tracks\Ratchal Keayrt dy Andreays\Andreas V-1-0-8-1\Export\andreas_v1081\andreas_1081.fbx", so there doesn't seem to be any non-latin characters? I've ran the entire folder through Windows PowerToys 'PowerRename' to remove any non-latin characters and it's made no difference. I'm pretty sure that the dashes aren't the issue as I've always used them in my previous successful projects.. any ideas?

An update on this: I've changed the names and the entire file path for the fbx file and it hasn't changed this at all, even placing other track's files in the file path and loading them works. No idea what is up with this now.
