Hi, a few months ago I posted a conversion I made from rFactor, but I haven't update it because I don't think is worth since it have quite a few bugs generated by the way it was created for rFactor, so I rather learn and build it from zero, and try to get it to AC quality level hopefully .

I have zero experience building a track from scratch, and RTB make more easy getting some elevation data of the terrain, but I find it lacks some features. That's why I would like to know if it possible to create the track surface in blender or 3ds max and align it to the terrain generated by RTB

Maybe create the track surface using a spline and somehow aligning it to the terrain, I don't know if things like that are possible.

Yup, you can generate the terrain in RTB, export it to FBX, and import it in Max.

Then create all the splines you want... but you will need a script to move the spline(s) to the surface afterwards, but tons of scripts available!

Is this a local track? Chilean or somewhere else? Because maybe we can find LiDAR data for it and not need to use RTB at all!

Cool! If I remember there are some scripts that can move a spline to the surface, so will search more about it.

About the LiDAR, its a local track in Chile called "Autódromo Internacional de Codegua", its geographic coordinates are -34.0367839,-70.631574

I have been searching LiDAR data with some friends for some time but unfortunately we haven't found any data of it yet, that why I was taking a look at the terrain generated by RTB, since the track its pretty flat so there isn't any huge change in elevation

I'm making a track in New Zealand and we have good LiDAR but the SRTM data is too old. Earthquakes caused tectonic movement and SRTM data did not merge with LiDAR, and it is old anyway. The ASTER DEM/DSM product is better than SRTM if you can use that I recommend it!
