Hi guys. I decided to publish a few renderings from 3ds Max of my first track project, Dallas GP 1984. I've been developing this track since May 2020. I put it aside last 6 months and now I'm in the final stages before the first BETA release. WHAT TO EXPECT FROM MY WORKS: - I'm open to collaborating on future track projects. My main task is graphic development in 3ds Max. - My tracks will consist ONLY of classic F1 tracks from the late '70 to early '90. Focusing on city tracks at the beginning... - My cars will consist of classic F1 cars from the '80, especially turbo era. - Considering my first project (Dallas GP 1984), I expect a timeline of 10 months for tracks and 5-6 for cars on average. This project took me 3 months, at 3-4 hrs per day as of today of work (consider a lot of trial and error at the beginning). WHAT TO EXPECT FOR THE FIRST RELEASE: - Track is bumpy as the original one, so careful with Force Feedback first times (better to turn it down a bit) - There won't be the crowd. It's going to be an update in a later release. - Some buildings are not as the original, but I plan to update with a better version, especially the textures. - It will be developed and optimized with SOL 2.02 + CSP, so I don't know with standard settings how things will appear. - Track is optimized for high graphic quality. Polygon numbers are optimized, but I can't guarantee a smooth drive on an older PC. THINGS TO DO BEFORE THE FIRST RELEASE: - Upgrade road texture - Add some pit objects - Add some realistic grass - Test track (already doing it) I know that there's another Dallas 1984 track in development from EKO Sim-Racing, but I decided anyway to do my own version for practicing track building. I'm not trying to be better than anybody, I just enjoy creating 3d environments. My main goal is the graphic element, so expect to have a lot of bugs after the first BETA release. I Will update once a week in this thread on how things are going. In the meantime enjoy the first 3ds Max renderings
Pretty nice job for a start I see you even got the roller coaster in there. Seems like you've got a fairly good base. If you need any advice just let me know in PM (I too am a max user). Good luck with this project !
Hi EKO, thanks! Yeah I got one as I've seen from pictures. Not easy to find reference material that old, the videos are obviously low quality. I find building tracks relaxing, especially when you don't have a deadline. The only thing limiting us 3D creators is the size of the projects, unfortunately.
