Hello! Have you re-edited the surface? Just to comment .. is the floor object very large? If so, try dividing it into several pieces. Being very large it can lose the physics in parts and be only visible mesh. As Luchian has said, it is not a problem of the surfaces.ini, in fact, if you use 1GRASS_xxx as the object name, you could delete the ini and it should work the same.

are you sure the object name still has the 1 in front of the rest? Any change regarding "Active" and "Rendered"?
