Because the head of my old one broke a few days back, I've seen this kind of thread on a few forums, and it's actually a convivial place for general talk. So, why not us too .
..aaand Black Friday strikes again. Although I had to also bring in Santa to get the "OK" . Still worth it. I hope. Will see when they get here.
Hadn't found this thread before. Not directly sim racing, but I will use it to help texture my buildings.
Oculus Rift purchased in the black friday frenzy... not 100% my 970 is up to the task but we'll find out soon! Bit self-centred, but the thing I'm most looking forward to is seeing my own creations come to life in AC!
any reason is a good reason ! Indeed the Balck Friday prices were finally what Palmer initially announced "ball park around 350 $/€", considering the package includes the Touch controllers. I got/received mine last summer for my birthday but.. can't use it in AC: I get dizzy ! Sent from my phone using Tapatalk
I'm extremely interested to see how I cope with it in AC, given thats what I plan on using it for 95% of the time! I tried VR at Spa this year for 3 measly laps on Project Cars 2... And whilst it did cause some strange discomfort in the first couple of braking zones/corners, by the 3rd lap it was feeling great! I expect being able to fit it correctly and take the time to ensure its setup properly will be a big advantage, though I am expecting it to push me to spending more money on a new GPU... Hope i can hold off till the next gen!
Still rockin' a 5D mkII. It's been round the clock but still working so I can't justify a mkIV. Yet...
@garyjpaterson I would definitely wait for the next generation. Somehow.. @Willy Wale my favorite model, I love all 5Ds. Even though I only own a 550d. But my lenses will fit the full frame, when I will be able to upgrade. My main lens is a 17-40mm F/4L.
@luchian we may need a photo equipment GAS thread Yes, the 5D is the right size and it does the job. I bought mine when the mk III was launched and the price dropped. My main lens changes. I go through phases of leaving the 50mm f/1.8 attached. Superb quality for less than 80 pounds. But otherwise it's the 24-70mm f/2.8
Picked up this piece of junk today ;-) Paid $100 for it! SEGA 1989 Super Monaco GP In working order, steering wheel needs work as well as paddle shifters, but still playable. Going to be a fun resto project. I restored a Tekken 3 machine a couple years back. Haven't taken a pic of the screen but here's a screenshot I found online ^^^ My Tekken 3 machine I restored ^^^
Ha ha that DID cross my mind ! I think the layout is a bit limited though ... small single screen, seat cant be adjusted ... wheel position ... etc But if you gutted the entire thing and put in a racing seat on rails etc .. could be fun. No rush to do anything with it yet...
