AC Update AC 1.3.x update(s) + Audi R8 bonus
For the record (as we aim keeping track of all AC's updates) we'll just post this here .
The 1.3 update brought a lot of improvements, most of them pre-announced in the live sessions Stefano used to make. One of my favorites must be the 64bit build, pushing away all those memory limitation situations. You can choose your favorite ones, from the complete changelogs bellow. More so since there were no less than 7 micro-updates since the 1.3 original launch, bringing us a bonus Audi R8 V10 car in the process.

TUTORIAL Assetto Corsa Official Editor - Tutorial Video #1
Exciting news !
Kunos team, represented in this case by the KS lead 3d artist Simone Trevisiol, just released a first video presenting the basic functionality of their inhouse editor/exporter, the tool that will allow you/me/us modders to export own 3d creations. It seems that in the beginning, only track exporting options will be available, although for cars the same editor will be used a little bit later down the road. The main reason (and it makes sense) is that Kunos team wishes to also release a proper documentation when enabling car export, as cars require more that some 3d... -
DLC Porsche Pack 3 & AC v.1.11
Mid-week release for Porsche Pack 3, so time might be scarce for trying it out. However little time you have though, it worth's giving the new toys a spin. Porsche Pack Volume 3 follows the first two DLC packs dedicated to the Porsche brand, introducing a selection of seven different vehicles. The pack places an emphasis on modern-day Porsche racing cars, including the entire 991 GT3 racing line and the latest 2016 Le Mans-winning 919 Hybrid, while also featuring two of the German brand’s most iconic racing cars, the 908 Lang-Heck and 917 K.
Volume 3 also brings players one of... -
NEWS Bonus Pack 3 - Preview
We have a date: 20th of December 2017. A date that might just mark the last important milestone in the development of Assetto Corsa. 1.
Whether that means we'll be hearing soon about Assetto Corsa 2 or other new product from Kunos, or that we'll just feel the silence for a long time, is almost anybody's guess. We don't know, nothing has been announced officially. Maybe we'll find out more in the traditional end of the year blog. Like in the previous years. But until then, let's enjoy what we do know, and that is the list of goodies:

AC Update Assetto Corsa 1.12
Howdy folks,
Time for some reheated news . Assetto Corsa 1.12 was released already 10 days ago, and among the consistent list of fixes and features, we also got some free content: The AUDI QUATTRO S1 E2 and the HIGHLANDS fictional track. Both are very welcomed in our simracing arsenal, of course.
In my book, there is however another big "feature" I was waiting for quite some time: V10 tyre model for all cars. Yay !
NOTE: read in the next post about a possible problem (CPU occupancy) some systems might get... -
The 5 point tyre model for ACC
This is too big not to write a few words about. Or better said, I _hope_ it is as big as it sounds . From the get go, I should say that I'm surprised to find out that AC/ACC are actually using a single point contact for physics calculations. True, I did not look a long time at this, but I think Scawen was talking about it from 2010. So in my little mind, all the sims that came after that, definitely had to be using more than one contact point, right ? Wrong.
Enter Aris.
In modern computing, collision detection is still one of... -
AC Update Assetto Corsa v1.14
With the release of RTR DLC, we have also seen the release of Assetto Corsa update 1.14. Or the other way around. However, even though DLCs and updates are often released together, they are not linked. Meaning that you will automatically benefit from the update even if you don't buy the DLC.
Since the release of update 1.13, there were approximately 2 months gone by. This usually means that the changelog is quite consistent and aside from... -
ACC Early Access - Release 5
It's update day. Steam servers will be hard at work once more, because Kunos released version 0.5 of their Assetto Corsa Competizione title. As usual, we have new content: the New Emil Frey Jaguar G3 and the Zolder circuit, in its laserscanned beauty. Aside from this, I would say that the most notable feature are the new ECU maps for all cars.
Zolder Circuit
In their own words, Zolder Circuit is 4 kilometres of asphalt, 10 curves of which 3 chicanes, a daring Sacramentsheuvel and 2... -

AC Update Assetto Corsa 1.8 preview
This one comes with special flavor. It's a big milestone in AC's life, and in Kunos' history, since this release coincides with the release of the console version. We don't have the changelog yet, but we do know about some bonus content that will be included:
The Audi S1, which should be quite fun for friendly online races
And the historic Monza's 1960 10 km Sopraelevata circuit (available for the consoles as well), which has been developed using laserscan technology to guarantee the highest level of accuracy for Assetto Corsa. This has been... -
NEWS Assetto Corsa release 0.21 on Steam Early Access
On Friday, 18th, Kunos released a new update (and a few minor ones in the following hours) after skipping the update on July 4th according to the usual 2-weeks schedule. However, it was well worth the wait because this update come with some major features, a new awesome car - the legendary Classic Team Lotus Type 98T, and most importantly prepares the platform for some consistent improvements in the future, towards the 1.0 release. One more noticeable fact would also be that Kunos team is growing, and this can only mean one thing for us: more goodies... -
DLC The Way Back Machine - AC v.1.10 & Porsche Pack 2
Motto:
“How did it get so late so soon?” ― Dr. Seuss
End of November brought the 2nd Porsche Pack DLC on the PC version of Assetto Corsa. For those that purchased the Season Pass, the pack was automatically included in one's library. And same it shall be for the third pack, when it will launch a little bit later this December. The 20th, as far as we know.
Before speaking about the list of cars, it is also worth mentioning that together with the DLC, we have seen the 1.10 update. With each update, broken stuff gets fixed or new stuff gets added, continuously improving the... -
Amazon's Lumberyard - should we consider it ?
For quite some time now, Amazon is developing its own game engine. That is nothing new. However, in the latest release, one feature might be of interest for the activities around here: new ready-made components for generating roads and rivers.
For full release notes, see there. But to our attention, this extract: Road – Use this component to create paths in the terrain. You can create roads that follow the... -
NEWS Everything has been said !
..and more ! A big announcement today on AC's fb page, with cool information about what the near (and not so near) future will bring to Assetto Corsa. A special mention goes to AC member the_meco, proving once more that outstanding work does not go unnoticed and "unpunished" .
"Dear Assetto Corsa fans
We know that in the last few weeks we have been very silent, but there was a valid reason; all our resources and everybody in the dev team have been working real hard in order to finish Assetto Corsa and to prepare a preview Release Candidate... -
NEWS Assetto Corsa 2015 and beyond - as they called it.
One year back (and one year before that) "as usual", Kunos prepared a big announcement for December 31st. This year is no exception, even if it also throws a glimpse to what has already happened before looking towards 2016. While it is true that hopes were to release about 50 cars in 2015, we did see no less than 32 new cars added to the game, as free bonus content or DLC. Some might argue about "countless" number of DLCs, but I/we prefer this model to any other like "full new game every year" or... -
RELEASED-final Donington Park 2018, [GP & National]
DOWNLOAD HERE.
There are currently 2 versions of Donington released for Assetto Corsa. Both are made by the same talented modder, BrunUK. And both look stunning. However, the 2018 version is something special. I am not referring to the layout per se, or the quality of track objects; I'm speaking about the overall look. It is perfect. And I don't use this term easily.... -
TUTORIAL Getting Danish landscape information Tutorial Part 1
Does not work anymore!
The download site has been removed and been replaced with something, that I have yet to understand how to use.
It is still possible to go to the http://miljoegis.mim.dk/cbkort site and view Ortho photos across the ages.
I have used this with Greenshoot to get earlier Ortho photos piece by piece.
Happy Racing
There are multiple types of data, helpful to the trackbuilder available from the Danish government.
Such as DHM (The Danish Height model) and Orthophotos (airplane photos). DHM consists of LIDAR, that is LAS pointclouds compressed into... -
ACC Early Access - Release 6.. not yet.
The last milestone on the roadmap presented and unofficially committed to last year, was Release 6. It was scheduled to be released on February 13th. However, and even if Kunos managed to keep the previous 5, it seems that 13th meant bad luck (even though in Italy that would be.. 17th ?) and they could not make it. Initially announced as a 1-week delay, with this announcement:
"Dear ACC forum community,
we apologize for the delay that this news had about the forum post, but all the team is... -
NEWS Pack Of 6 Cobras Skinned Alive, By Nwrap
New member @NWRAP shared a great pack of skins for the @the_meco's Shelby Cobra. Check them skins out in the AC Skins category. What I love is that every skin has a story behind and they all come from "that" era . There's
A 1963 Canadian GP Shelby Cobra as driven by Ken Miles
Then a 1973 Shelby Cobra 427 as driven by Sam Feinstein
A 1965 Essex Wires Shelby Cobra Replica
A skin "based on the car from Spinout... -
ACC - Ready to Launch, May 29th.
Less than 24h left and we'll all get to see Assetto Corsa Competizione being "freed" into the wild, as a stand-alone 1.0 title. Support will not stop after that, but tomorrow is a very important day for Kunos, since it will mark another milestone in the small(still ?) studio's life.
One of the most anticipated and discussed features of v1.0 was the "matchmaking". The relatively loose interpretation/understanding of what this actually means, led to a lot of complaints/disappointment on the official forum. And since the general understanding risked to...
