Together with the release of the console version in Europe (August 26th), there is also a new DLC coming our way: the tripl3 pack. As far as we know, it will cost 2.99 EUR, and will feature 3 cars. However, not just any cars but:
Ferrari FXX K
The FXX K is the R&D program of Ferrari starring the first hybrid prototype of Maranello. The initials K refers to the "Kers" technology (kinetic energy recovery) for maximizing performance on the track. Free from homologations and regulations, the FXX K has been developed with no compromise and...
This one comes with special flavor. It's a big milestone in AC's life, and in Kunos' history, since this release coincides with the release of the console version. We don't have the changelog yet, but we do know about some bonus content that will be included:
The Audi S1, which should be quite fun for friendly online races
And the historic Monza's 1960 10 km Sopraelevata circuit (available for the consoles as well), which has been developed using laserscan technology to guarantee the highest level of accuracy for Assetto Corsa. This has been...

For Oculus it was somewhere here (ok, ok, first you need to put your shoes on, or flip-flops if you wish, but we’ll leave that stuff out). My favorite part must be this one:
[..]2) Logo/s. I am listing the organization as "Oculus", I plan on using that name on my VR projects from here on out. The HMD itself is tentatively titled "Rift", if you have better ideas, let me...
This has just been posted by Kunos, on their blog. Those that follow closely the development had an idea about it, but nobody new exactly what was going on. An awesome surprise nevertheless, and this will definitely give a new push to the sim. Here's the complete article:
the new update of Assetto Corsa is available on Steam Early access: take advantage of the Steam sales and get the game in early access at 30% less of the full price. By the way, we wish to thank you for the great support you are giving to...
Within a time frame of 4 days the Kunos team teased us with quite a few awesome status updates/news. It all started on Friday when against a not so friendly weather, they gave us a glimpse of the preparation fever before "the" journey ! Some driving hours later, they are safe and sound arrived at location but actual work would start the next day. And why not start a good day of work with a "spoiler".. say like.. a Toyota GT86 ! Now let's add track data, car data, videos/photos, the meeting with the RUF team.. things sound and look really productive for them, and really awesome for us...
On Friday, 18th, Kunos released a new update (and a few minor ones in the following hours) after skipping the update on July 4th according to the usual 2-weeks schedule. However, it was well worth the wait because this update come with some major features, a new awesome car - the legendary Classic Team Lotus Type 98T, and most importantly prepares the platform for some consistent improvements in the future, towards the 1.0 release. One more noticeable fact would also be that Kunos team is growing, and this can only mean one thing for us: more goodies...
About a week back, Stefano decided to do these live coding sessions where he fixes/implements different stuff in our favorite sim, while also having a conversation with the people watching. Today's episode (3rd one in the series) was a 'bit special, as it included a rather long Q&A session. And a Blackout .
Here are a few notes on the stuff I found interesting. It's not exactly quoting word-for-word, but no modification to the message itself was made .
Q: Do you have any plans for Assetto Corsa 2 ?
A: No plans. We as a company, work on short...
Because it might be in his job description, Marco Massarutto is actually doing some fine work in teasing us. Now it's dreampack#2's turn.
Started with a nice shot of the SCG 003Cs training on the Nords..
.. followed by a little riddle with this interior shot (most probably from the RUF rgt)..
..aand a surprise non-official shot with these
There's not much announced about the content, but from the little that we know, dreampack#2 will contain:
- The laser-scanned Circuit de Catalunya (Barcelona)...
One day, we'll post news when they actually happen, I tell you .
Anyhooooo.. 1.9 update also marked the start of a very special period in AC development. The first officially licensed Porsches, Pack 1. After an exclusive deal that Porsche had with Electronic Arts (..and which lasted around 16 years ! around the release of the NFS Porsche game), the world of simracing is free again. And what better place to feel this than our favorite sim, Assetto Corsa.
Here is what Kunos had to say about it:
Respecting what is now a very long tradition at Kunos...
“How did it get so late so soon?” ― Dr. Seuss
End of November brought the 2nd Porsche Pack DLC on the PC version of Assetto Corsa. For those that purchased the Season Pass, the pack was automatically included in one's library. And same it shall be for the third pack, when it will launch a little bit later this December. The 20th, as far as we know.
Before speaking about the list of cars, it is also worth mentioning that together with the DLC, we have seen the 1.10 update. With each update, broken stuff gets fixed or new stuff gets added, continuously improving the...
We'll get once more to have those sneak peaks in the development of our favorite sim, with the last announcement made by Kunos team. For every 1k Likes, a new set of images will find their way onto the Assetto Corsa Facebook page. So do share away !
"Dear AC followers,
With Assetto Corsa’s debut on Steam Early Access, we almost stopped sharing some of our WIP images from production (except for those which were close to released, oh, and of course the awesome pics created by our AC fans).
Now, with 30,000 genuine followers on Facebook, we have decided to reward you...
We usually hear about all kinds of partnerships between different companies along a project. And usually they will be financially oriented. This time however, we'll hopefully get to "feel" the benefits of the latest collaboration announced. That's because, aside from the material RSR Nurburg will be probably providing, they also have a great deal of experience with the said cars and the feedback they can give about the behavior in real life could really push Assetto Corsa towards that last drop of authenticity. Time will tell.
"Dear AC followers,
We are pleased to...
Stefano restarted his live streams, with a slightly different format - 2 different kind of episodes: Sundays, talk about features, information packed; Wednesday, 1 hr of coding oriented stream, like it used to be in the first season.
"It's nice to be back. It's the best period for me [just after the release of a major patch], because I'm allowed to break stuff and test. Feel excited and happy now, then close to the release it gets stressing"
So, what will the update 1.3 bring ?
64bit build ! - problem was linking the...
As every year, Kunos might be preparing some surprise announcement for December 31st. Last year 2015, we had Maserati & co. In 2014, we found out Lambos are joining the fun. As of now, we can consider those might be hard to beat. But is it ? All we have seen, is some mysterious screenshot from a british-nederlandish-city-like-track-ish.. Is there more in the cat's bag ? Or is Assetto Corsa going...
Look What The Cat Hacked In - S2E04 - Let's race
Is it Sunday yet? If so, it's Look What The Cat Hacked In time! This time 'round, Stefano shows us the new Barcelona by racing against the AI (and it looks very good indeed!) and talks about the updated tyre model, latest AI improvements and the upcoming 1.3 version of the game.
Wednesday's stream depends on how work will go. If Stefano finds something that he could hack/build in one hour or so, the stream will happen. Next Sunday Stefano will have a look at programming languages in general and how you can get into this...
As promised, Kunos "delivered" on 29th. A new verion which comes with a new car, a new track and some very consistent improvement and optimizations. Still a lot of things going behind the scenes, but as with every release, we are getting closer and closer to 1.0 version. Current milestone is set to a "candidate beta version" within some weeks. As we all know, terms like some, soon, couple of weeks, must be taken with a bit of salt when it comes to simracing or game developement in general . And yes of course, we all hope to be proven wrong when saying...
The current planned date for the first race is beginning of October, hopefully all the important decisions will be clarified until then. Some of the main topics, are or will be opened for discussion shortly. But if anything you are interested in is not covered, feel free to ask, or even create a specific thread (in case you need feedback from other racers).
Time for some reheated news. But hey, at least is still this year. I would even go that far as saying it's still this month . Anyhoo.. just wanted to put into the timeline collection what probably was the last DLC for Assetto Corsa in its present form. Even though when it was announced, Laguna Seca should've come as a paid addition, activity at Kunos Simulazioni is in continuous transformation. Always listening to community, and probably to lay out a good base for the future development, decision was taken to make...
As the server is on 24/7, why not put it to good use ?
Club type races, not a part of the official season's calendar (if one in progress). Every week, 2 races will be held, with the same combo, this way everybody can have a shot of making it to the race.
Club races mean no specific registration is required. You can however let others know you plan to participate - more drivers attract even more drivers .
UPDATE: You can reserve a car for a specific event. Your spot will be guaranteed and you...
