    It's been a long time since we had some writing here.. about 3 months on the calendar. To give this a positive turn, it goes to show the speed at which AC is evolving. At that time we were speaking about AC update 1.5, which wasn't even out yet. Now we are already at 1.7.5 and we are counting days until 1.8 release, in a couple of weeks.

    Every increment of AC updates, brings a nice package of features and improvements. Some might argue these are things that should've been there in the first place, but still.. it's good to see the energy around this project.

    Some of the highlights in 1.6:
    A first alpha version of Oculus Rift CV1 support, scalable apps, improved MP collision system, engine performance dependent on air density/temperature, new AWD transmission code, BOP for GT3 cars. Let's not forget of course, the essential one, SIMULATION_VALUE parameter used with big care, only by the professionals :D

    - Added new [ASSETTO_CORSA] SIMULATION_VALUE parameter. Increase the number to increase simulation value. Defaults to 0 for obvious reasons

    And then, came 1.7, another big step in the right direction, I would say a step closer to what the player base is waiting/hoping. My favorite highlights:
    Added an audio device selector (very useful if having multiple sound cards installed) and individual volume settings, brake disc temperature simulation for a few cars in the Red Pack DLC (more about it later), flash lights, jump start (a long requested feature), improved AI (quite nice to race against now), added a lot of newer incar tech simulation required for the F1 cars in the Red Pack DLC (still not the time) aand.. the possibility to launch sim directly.

    - "Lights on/off" is now a status of a car instead of a switch and gets replicated over the network properly
    - Tyre radius is now also a function of tyre angular velocity

    - Added ERS simulation with MGU-K, MGU-H, Batteries, energy recovery and deployment limits
    - Added active variable rear brake torque. Works in addition to the MGU-K recovery
