small thing but you should only use lower case in folder names, else it may cause errors for some modes

hmm, feeling depends on what you want. If its supposed to be concrete (texture looks like concrte), its fine, else its too rough I think.

I also have lag spikes around every 4 second which are pretty irritating. Do you maybe have texture files that are very big or of some odd size (not a power of 2? 512, 1024, 2018 and so on is what you should use)

it's mountain asphalt, which is rougher than usual but you confirm me it's a bit too much. I'm not happy with 3d grass, I have no lag at all on my pc but I guess that's the culprit for you, since latest version had no lag at all on a gtx 660 and a 680. Textures should all be properly setted up except terrain mask which is still png. As you suggested some times ago I lightened them already a lot, reducing their size.
Can you try it without grass? You just need to switch the .ini with the one I'm attaching here

that didn't change it. The red line appears with the spike, around every 3 to 4 secomds

How big is that png texture mask? As in resolution?

it's huge in resolution but not in size, 8192x8192 and 1633kb, but converting or scaling it for some reason isn't working properly, it'll mess up the whole map. Guess that's the real culprit then? I'll focus on that.

EDIT: that made me found an error on terrain dds too, which for some reason wasn't 4096x4096. working on some new terrain file now.

Thing is no matter how big the PNG is in file size, AC will convert it to DDS on loading, and 8192² uncompressed will be huge.

I know AC has to convert it, but on previous version it was not lagging to lower spec computers.
This is what I get when simply converting the mask (scaling or not I have the same result).
I don't get why it's working as a png and not as a dds, I'll send it to the modeller and ask to convert it with PS and not with Gimp, which I'm using as of now.

I tried everything I could, but nothing's worked so far. I will rework it completely in the next future, but for this release I have to stick with this. Can you please tell me what your cpu+gpu setting is? On the 680gtx tester I have no lag problems at all (but I can see those peaks, smaller) and on a 980ti and my 1070ti I have no problem. I know it's not a solution but for the time being it will be like this. Thank you for the feedback Accakut

Updated first post with newer version, I couldn't solve the terrain mask problem and I decided to do a sort of "final" version with that file. If you have really bad performances you can take out the first 2 grass file from the models.ini, that should improve a lot. Thank you for taking the time to try it out
