I meant an aerial shot of the lines with no cars on track. Cockpit view is not helpful.

Sorry about that, didn't quite get it, when I go into picture mode the ai lines disappear :/

Anyway, that was the error: I skipped the AC_start_2. now they're all in good order:

PROBLEM SOLVED! THANK YOU FOR YOUR HELP !

Now I go back to redoing the textures of the tarmac, and lowering the physical meshes

Oh I use F7 free cam and it should show the lines on screen.

Either way glad you sorted it out. And you likely would have needed to make your own edge lines anyway so that was likely not a waste of time.

I believe that is very true, in any case I had to do it.
Good news too is that now the physical mesh and the graphical meshes of the road are adjusted.

redo pitlane, its not meant to be going back
and why is there a jump in the right-side-border just bsides the first grid starting position?

    Record "ai\pit_lane.ai":
run game in hotlap mode, go just before where the pitline would split off the existing ai line (ai app on)
be exact as possible, if not ai will wiggle unforseen in game, when going off the normal line to the pit line
then hit "record pit" or what its called, then drive through the pits, no need to stop or anything, just drive
then stop when you reached the normal track ai-line, again as exact as possible, and exit the game
    rename "ai\pitlane.ai.candidate" to "ai\pitlane.ai"

I redid the tarmac, in the manner @luchian described, here's how it looks so far, I don't see it looking that good actually:

Ok, i redid the side lines with a 50cc go kart:ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO: worked like a charm, also did the pit ai, working good, redid the fastline (with F1 car this time) and apparently my previous one was much better. I guess I’ll have to redo it again tomorrow. Cheers team !

I was under the impression that you need to do the fast lane first, since it's not possible to record side lines until you have a fast lane. Just wondering if that might be an issue? I've never done it the other way round, do can't speak from experience.

You need a basic AI line first yes. Then you can make the side lines. After that you can make as many new fast lines as you want and when you hold the shift key the csv coordinates will get baked into the new line you just recorded.

So once the csv boundaries are created you can use them over and over again.

Yeah sorry I talked a bit fast: I used the original ai and redid the track left and right and readjusted. But you’re right, gotta do the fastlane first.

Watching this with great excitement! I live in the Phoenix area but alas moved here long after the Grand Prix left, but have always been intrigued. There's a really great Senna mural near the site of the old track. In fact, the last time I was able to race this track was on Ayrton Senna's Monaco GP on Game Gear . Can't wait to try it out!

I dont know how to do that, but I do know (thanks to Fat-Alfie!) how to export splines from 3ds to the left and right CSVs, if thats any use?

I like doing it that way, then you have so much control over them if you need to make changes for misbehaving AI.

This is one awesome little script, will import/export CSVs!

Also VERY useful when creating a groove, as you can record the line with the AI Helper, export the CSV, import with this script, and make it into a mesh :)

(might have to rotate it 90 degrees in the Z axis in max, cant remember)

I have to try something tonight, I might've found a tool, but first have to check it out.
I wanted to use the lines I made within AC this weekend, import them to 3ds max and just adjust them slightly as these side lines are pretty good already.
If not, I'll just create 2 splines and export them as LilSKi said.

What about this groove-thing ? How does this work, or how's it supposed to work ? What's it used for ?
