After finishing Goodwood FOS I'm wondering what will be my next track for AC. This time no more hill climb, I want to model a "proper" racing circuit. But which one? Here are some circuits that came to my mind. What do you think? Any other suggestions? Sachsenring (actual layout 2001+) fun to drive (little Nordschleife) racing series: ADAC GT Masters, MotoGP only found one conversion (possible rip) modelling aids: Google 3D data https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sachsenring Diepholz (Airbase) racing series: DTM between 1984 and 1996 only found an old rFactor 1 version by Tommy78 modelling aids: home town nearby https://web.archive.org/web/2012021...nline.co.uk/Europe/Germany/diepholz68-96.html Sebring Do we need another version? There is already a good one by M@dBrain here: https://www.racedepartment.com/downloads/sebring-international-raceway-rtb.13374/ modelling aids: Google 3D data other suggestion no historical tracks please use the poll above
Hi Gunnar, I voted for other because I would love to experience driving on a German autobahn one day. (sorry I know it's not a closed-circuit suggestion!) It probably sounds boring to people who drive to work on one every day, but I live in New Zealand and the biggest motorway near me is only two lanes with a 100kph limit. Plus I have this weird appreciation for good road engineering, and things like the autobahn and US inter-state highway system with it's clover-leaf intersections intrigue me
The track i miss for AC is Ascari, so its my selfish suggestion Theres a good project for it, but looks forever frozen.
There was a temporary German track with an incredible bank on one turn, can't remember the name.. Also, if you managed to use the opportunity to make a workflow video on how you do things would be awesome..
I chose Sachsenring. My thinking is that you have a special interest in the three you stated in your pole and it's always more fun to create something with a personal interest. Out of those three, that one definitely appeals to me most.
thanks for all your responses. let's see what this thread brings... it already gave me good ideas to think about. yes... not quite the kind of track I was thinking about. if i remember correctly there's already a motorway track released for AC... but I might be wrong I'm not a big fan of fictional tracks. Good idea. First time I heard about this circuit was in Top Gear. And it looks pretty amazing and fun to drive. I'll add this to the poll. This could be the old AVUS track in Berlin. It was used for DTM until the 90s (without the banking). I forgot to say that this time I'm not interested in doing a historical track. because of all the never ending research. I remember the times when I worked on a historical version of Nuerburgring for F1C/rF1 I can do some small tipps and tricks I use in 3DS Max
There is already a version released: https://assettocorsa.club/mods/tracks/norisring.html conversion by SandroX and Rainmaker of the original rF1 com8 track IMO it only needs some polishing, which shouldn't be hard to do. Maybe a little "side project"
yeah im sorry bout that track, but Fernando literally did a disappearing act, besides my personal issues, he had some family issues and hard times. anyway I miss him and wish him well. we had amazing feedback from the fastest guy around the track(secret driver) in RL. such a shame. its really nice with sol weather mod. anyway gunnar if you want to ascari I say go for it. its not a.... great track for racing though. but a nice test drive facility for sure. noirisring was my favourite track for about 10 years, then it became thunderhill it would be again if there was a good version. I love the portugal track. and sports land sugo.
Ascari looks close to finish. Would be sad not be able to release it. So if I understand correctly, this is Fernando's track project, he disappeared and now the project is abandoned?
If I had a choice it would be the Sachsenring.... If i had free range it would be Malory Park or Castle Combe...
There is already an GTR2 conversion project for Malory Park and the work in progress video looks promising: Castle Combe Circuit is released here: https://www.racedepartment.com/downloads/castle-combe-circuit.14612/ looks like a quick conversion to me
Conversions don't count IMO. Almost none of them are ever accurate due to the lack of data when they were built.
it is, just needs new trees and grass. a weeks work tops. I might just actually complete that tbh as been driving around it a bit lately. but it was a respectful abandon from me. I don't think itd be fair for me to take it further. I have considered building on top of it new meshes but that was the last thought and then I was doing limerock park.
Hello, first apology for my bad english. Google Translate is my friend. 9 month ago i decided to learn Modding, so i've read and saw tons of tutorials and posts on YouTube and here in this forum. Thanks to Lilski, Luchian, John, Gunnar and many more for sharing your knowledge. So now theoretically i´m world class The reason for the decision to learn modding was that my "hometrack" (i live 20 minutes away) has no good Mods in Assetto: Sachsenring. I began to search for LIDAR of the area (i found some, but i didn´t bought them yet), tried to build a very simple track, searched textures etc. But i realized that learning (Blender, ksEditor, Texturing ..) takes so much time that i finished the track in 5 years So my vote is for Sachsenring. Even though Diepholz would be nice too. I love to drive the early 90s DTM cars.
Never noticed that there is/was another oval track besides Lausitzring in Europe. Never heard of it before. Reference92 was/is building it but the last beta was posted 2017. https://www.racedepartment.com/downloads/rockingham-issc.4966/
Thanks Gunnar.... I do have all these tracks already.... They are all either half finished or showing their age... Hoping for abit of Gunnar stardust.... Loving Goodwood, top quality... My go to track with a new car....
