I've been looking at Bing Maps since seeing it mentioned in the Kyalami thread. It looks pretty good, but am I right in thinking the only way to use it is to make multiple screenshots and combine them using an external app, then match and replace the original? (I'm using RTB)

Is there a way to remove the road and place names?

Okay, got it... Looks good! Where does it download stuff to by default? I'm having trouble figuring it out

Hover mouse over Road/Aerial top left and switch off Labels

    Photoshop > File > Automate > Photomerge
Will auto stitch your captures as well.

Thanks! I don't have photoshop but I used to have a small app called autostitch which did the same thing. I might still have it somewhere. It seems they sold the rights so there's no longer a free version on the website

It will download tiles to cache folder inside the SASPlanet folder.
You can choose where to save the stitched file.

Alt+R for rectangular selection, next draw the box on map and new window will appear where you select zoom lvl to download.
    Proceed with start button.
Once it's downloaded go to stitch tab and choose the output file and settings.

If you still want to stitch manually Microsoft ICE is a great free tool:
    https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/res...tography-applications/image-composite-editor/
Not sure if it will work with map tiles though.

Thanks for the link, I'll give ICE a try.

I eventually managed to figure out how to save an image file from sas.planet, thanks for the hints. Next step is to try matching it to the default generated by rtb...
