For the record (as we aim keeping track of all AC's updates) we'll just post this here .
The 1.3 update brought a lot of improvements, most of them pre-announced in the live sessions Stefano used to make. One of my favorites must be the 64bit build, pushing away all those memory limitation situations. You can choose your favorite ones, from the complete changelogs bellow. More so since there were no less than 7 micro-updates since the 1.3 original launch, bringing us a bonus Audi R8 V10 car in the process.
1.3 - 64bit build - Car physics...
Are you a track modder ? Good ! Are you passionate about UK tracks ? Well, even better !
Because the UK's Environment Agency decided to make all the data collected in the last 17 years, available for everyone to use for free. The applications are various, but speaking only for our field of interest, this is huge news for every track modder out there. Getting accurate reference data is one of the most difficult tasks without LS when aiming for a top quality project. Thanks to this decision, it's now possible to access all the 11 terabytes of LIDAR data, and with it most...

Look What The Cat Hacked In - S2E06 - Teenage Dreams
In this episode of Look What The Cat Hacked In... Stefano wins a race. Stefano rage-quits a race. Stefano thinks about Aris' sleep hours.
All joking and Top Gear references aside, everyone dreamt about the Countach in their teenage years, didn't they? Well, I'm actually too young to know that, but it has to be this way. This car is the definition of awesome!
Good thing that Kunos showed it in today's episode of the Look What The Cat Hacked In, along with the Audi R8 LMS Ultra and the GT40. And where will you see...

Look What The Cat Hacked In - S2E04 - Let's race
Is it Sunday yet? If so, it's Look What The Cat Hacked In time! This time 'round, Stefano shows us the new Barcelona by racing against the AI (and it looks very good indeed!) and talks about the updated tyre model, latest AI improvements and the upcoming 1.3 version of the game.
Wednesday's stream depends on how work will go. If Stefano finds something that he could hack/build in one hour or so, the stream will happen. Next Sunday Stefano will have a look at programming languages in general and how you can get into this...
Look What The Cat Hacked In - S2E03
Sunday's episode was a light one, clocking in at just above 60 minutes. There are, however, some interesting things that were discussed, such as DRS, graphics, new tyre models and... surprise, suprise: Assetto Corsa 2. Below the video you'll find a breakdown of the most important parts of this episode of "Look What The Cat Hacked In", including a detailed Q&A session.
- The file format and algorithm have changed. Before these changes the simulator was checking...
Stefano restarted his live streams, with a slightly different format - 2 different kind of episodes: Sundays, talk about features, information packed; Wednesday, 1 hr of coding oriented stream, like it used to be in the first season.
"It's nice to be back. It's the best period for me [just after the release of a major patch], because I'm allowed to break stuff and test. Feel excited and happy now, then close to the release it gets stressing"
So, what will the update 1.3 bring ?
64bit build ! - problem was linking the...
Because it might be in his job description, Marco Massarutto is actually doing some fine work in teasing us. Now it's dreampack#2's turn.
Started with a nice shot of the SCG 003Cs training on the Nords..
.. followed by a little riddle with this interior shot (most probably from the RUF rgt)..
..aand a surprise non-official shot with these
There's not much announced about the content, but from the little that we know, dreampack#2 will contain:
- The laser-scanned Circuit de Catalunya (Barcelona)...
For the record, this should be noted here. Or maybe you've missed it. Ok, maybe not . Anyhoo, the AC 1.2 update hit us on July 31st and it was quite a substantial one, with important evolutions in all areas. The most important ones I'd say - the FFB and the AI. One step ahead for the FFB with a cleaner signal. This might require re-adapting to the cars and driving but once done, you don't want to go back. And what better opportunity to train if not with the improved AI. The "smarter" AI will offer some serious challenge depending on the chosen combo. It will change lines, it will...
About a week back, Stefano decided to do these live coding sessions where he fixes/implements different stuff in our favorite sim, while also having a conversation with the people watching. Today's episode (3rd one in the series) was a 'bit special, as it included a rather long Q&A session. And a Blackout .
Here are a few notes on the stuff I found interesting. It's not exactly quoting word-for-word, but no modification to the message itself was made .
Q: Do you have any plans for Assetto Corsa 2 ?
A: No plans. We as a company, work on short...

For Oculus it was somewhere here (ok, ok, first you need to put your shoes on, or flip-flops if you wish, but we’ll leave that stuff out). My favorite part must be this one:
[..]2) Logo/s. I am listing the organization as "Oculus", I plan on using that name on my VR projects from here on out. The HMD itself is tentatively titled "Rift", if you have better ideas, let me...
Yes, you read that right. In a series of tweets, Stefano Casillo (the lead programmer over at Kunos) announced that on December 1st, 2015 the multiplayer lobby of netKar Pro will be shutdown, and the software will become available as freeware (and no longer supported).
Until then, the license verification was already deactivated, which means that if you have a pay code you can share it with friends and the product will get activated for unlimited time.
For those of you that don't know what nK is, I'll say only this: it's beyond any...
Embrace for Dream Pack #1 !
Finally, the teasing is over (well, sort-of). The first Dream Pack in Assetto Corsa's timeline, is available for pre-order on steam, with a special (and incredible) price : 9.99 E (full price will be 14.99 E, after launch).
Launch date is also announced, March 11th, a date I'm sure a lot of simracers marked in the calendar already. I can see those sick leave flowing like crazy beginning of next week . Come to think abo.. oh, sorry, of course I wouldn't..
What's included ? 10...
While there's still no announced date for the Dream Pack release (other than Q1 2015), we are definitely getting closer. The teasing increased lately on their FB page, and some hints are being published by the devs on their personal accounts. Like the one from Luca, on Feb/19: "1.15am - #AssettoCorsa Dev Team and Betatesters are doing a GREAT job together on the incoming update. Hold on! The best is yet to come!". Good news and bad news in the same time, because we can see them cars and roads, but we can't...
Or actually both v1.1 and the dream pack #1. Improvements in v1.1 will be free and available for all current users, while the Dream Pack #1 will be paid, without any info on the price yet. Just the promise that is going to be released in Q1 2015.
Here is the press release:
Our development team is working hard on the next release of Assetto Corsa, that will upgrade the main version of the game and will include important additions. We would also like to thank you for all the constructive criticism and helpful tips you submit to our...
It's time to get the cars rolling again, so we'll start discussions of a new season. Provisional date for the first race is middle of February (we'll decide together the calendar) but until then plenty of things to agree on.
Tomorrow, new topics and polls will be created, don't hesitate to get involved in the discussions, especially if you'd like to take part in the races .
See you soon.
Playing with the fans using a 3 days countdown, the hour finally came:

Kunos guys did it again. On Christmas Eve. In a gesture to show the appreciation for the massive support from gamers all over the world, the RUF CTR YELLOWBIRD is available as a gift starting today, adding to the on-growing list of awesome cars to drive in Assetto Corsa.
Before I leave you (I'm as eager to try it as you are ), don't forget that on December 31st an important announcement is to be made, regarding the future of our beloved sim. Until then, Happy Christmas to you all !
