Read more about Club Racing Concept, THERE.

ACM Club Racing is moving its camp from the Low Countries to Italy. Guess which car manufacturer offered to supply us with their cars for the race...

We've heard many people crying on about how heavy and slow to brake the Nismo GT-R was, so Ferrari offered us a car right out of their special division: the 599XX EVO! It's way more willing to change direction, it stops faster and it will require the most out of its driver. The road car strolling is over, it's now time to see who has what it takes to be a real racing driver!

Want to reserve your car for the night? Please check-in, specifying your SteamID. Here is how to do it: http://www.assettocorsamods.net/threads/concept-club-racing.105/#post-1922. We will then make sure your slot won't be taken by someone else. It's an ACM Club Racing exclusive feature for our members!

    Week's combo:
    TRACK: Imola
    CAR: Ferrari 599XX EVO
    RACE Wednesday 16/sep, 18:00 GMT
PENALITIES: ON (3 tyres out allowed)
    FUEL RATE: 1x
    TYRE WEAR RATE: 1x

    RACE FORMAT:

    Quali1 10 min
    Race1 20 min(ish)

    Quali2 10 min
    Race2 20 min(ish)

Rinse and repeat while fun lasts :).

    SERVER : ASSETTOCORSAMODS.net CLUB

During the week, the server is free to join, so you can practice as long as you wish :).

At race hour server will be password-ed ONLY IF discipline becomes an issue (it wasn't the case until now, on the contrary). So, in case you see a password, it will be the week's pass: entryticket

Just tried this a bit, I had to adjust my braking points a lot compared to GT3 cars... Weight being pretty low, I assume because of the increase in speed?
    This will be exciting ;)

The main difference is the 599XX does not have to comply with the Balance-of-Performance so it has tons more power. This translates into a considerable speed increase, while the brakes have ~same efficiency; so yeah, it's basically GT3++. ;)

didn't enjoy last nights race one bit.

12 laps was too long to wait after being crushed to death. and whilst I understand why there are penalities. its insulting on imola to go wide or crash and reduce my lap time to be told ohh that's it 21mph for you.

half the field got punted off track and nobody voted to reset. amazing. but they decided to leave half way through the race.

a car that is hard to get up to speed makes for better racing. but the skill in slowing this car down is what leaves it being a wreck fest.

Yeah, I kinda feel the same. It was way less fun that I was expecting.
Not because of the car.. but because of the car :D.

I mean, you need some practice to get used to it, and then push that in close racing with similar paced drivers. But in current context "club racing" where people should just join in and race, it's a wreck fest indeed. It's too much power or too much character to just race it to the max without prior training (or some good self control).
This will get better in the future when we'll be able to restrict server with something like minorating, but we're not there yet.

And it's a shame, because we've had impressive events with powerful cars, when it was a pure joy to drive. I think the P1 race on Monza is something everybody remembers :).

We still have one more to suffer, on Saturday tho :D
    Race on !

what a car though ! but lets see what is it really.

its a track day car . but a track day car that only champions can take to the max and keep it there.

And the changing grip on the track didn't help either...
At least I was surprised, I went in the sand a lot... Especially that at the end of the qualify session I got used to more grip, then suddenly at the beginning of the race, it disappeared...
Saturday, maybe it will be better, now that everybody practiced a bit ;)
And I agree, a bit slower car (you know I prefer GT3s) would have been more fun and maybe less crashes (but with anybody joining, there is still chance for it).
